Beer Image Beer Name: Samuel Smith's The Famous Taddy Porter
Brewer Name: Samuel Smith's Old Brewery
Style: Porter
Beer Description: * Porter was the first commercially brewed beer. It was named for the train porters who were its original servers and consumers. Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery, Yorkshire’s oldest, reintroduced authentic porter to the British beer scene in 1979 after an absence of more than 50 years. Very dark, fairly full in body and packed with flavor. Intense, dry tangy character of roasted barley.

My favorite Samuel Smith's. A balanced and easy drinking session porter at 5%.

This is the 2nd best tasting porter I've sampled. I still like most stouts better than porters, so consider this a lower "8" than some of the other beers I've rated "8".

Not a strong as I had hoped. Still, very well balanced and a definitely great Porter.

Nothing wrong with this. Nice roasted malt taste. Not overpowering or a lot of alcohol but a good, full bodied taste.
