Draft. A smooth drinking Imperial Stout. I loved the chocolate and coffee notes and the mild bitterness in the finish. It's high octane but the alcohol is hidden very well.

Draft. Very smooth and almost creamy. Did not notice the 9% ABV at all. Seemed to be a little light on the roasted barley. Excellent stout. I wish I had one on hand right now.

Drank most recently at Copper Grill (not yet on menu). Rich black color, wonderfully complex, big complex smell. Dark fruits, raisin, molasses, chocolate and coffee flavors occur naturally from the roasted malts. High alcohol content well hidden.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Pours almost black with nice tan head that lingers awhile. An alcohol taste for sure but not unpleasant in the least. The bitter and sweet balance perfectly. You're aware they're both there but you taste them at the seamless merge. This beer does deep so well without the overly charred, molasses, raisin taste that plagues others. Wonderful smell of fresh baked bread & coffee on a crisp winter morning & just enough carbonation to keep it from becoming tiring. It may be a 10 but I'm just so damn picky. Update** On tap definately a 10, I wanted to fill a tub and wallow in the creaminess.......

Only had one, it left me wanting another.

Followed this up with one on tap and another bottle to take home. I"m keeping the 7 rating.

I tried this again tonight and had to bump up my previous rating a bit. It's complex but it's a much better beer than I remembered.

My favorite non-chocolate stout I've tried so far. Very heavy. Poured a deep black, tar-like appearance. The scent of alcohol was very strong but I didn't find it offensive. Could definately taste the roasted malts, but not overly malty. My only complaint was the unfiltered yeast floating around the top. (They told me it was fine. I hope so, cause it looked like someone spit something in there.)

agree with derek on the scent, but the overall taste doesn't match up to the scent. there is a nice dark chocolate aftertaste to it, but when drinking the beer, it almost seems that the malts and barley are a bit too roasted. although, i did find that this one gets better as you go along. about halfway through the pint i realized it was tasting better.
still a good beer, but i'll take many other stouts over this one.

VERY NICE. Good balance between the dry stouts like Murphy's and the sweeter stuff. Very hoppy, which was a surprise since I hadn't encountered that with other stouts. Pours very dark with a dark foamy head, looks great in the glass. It has a nice, strong scent too. You're probably not going to sit down and drink 12 of these though, which is the ONLY drawback. Other than that it is awesome. Highly recommended.

9% ABV
