Beer Image Beer Name: Stone Ruination IPA
Brewer Name: Stone Brewing Company
Style: Imperial/Double IPA
Beer Description: * So called because of the "ruinous" effect on your palate! This massive hop monster has a wonderfully delicious and intensely bitter flavor on a refreshing malt base. One taste and you can easily see why we call this brew "a liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Those who seek, crave and rejoice in beers with big, bold, bitter character will find true nirvana in Stone Ruination IPA!

I just tried this beer because it ranked so high on this site. I don't see the draw. The beer was OK, but too hoppy for my liking.

I always look forward to drinking a brew by Stone... I just wish we could get it here in Arkansas!

"A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!". I can't come up with anything better than that. It's another awesome beer from Stone.

I guess I am easily influenced by marketing because with a name like Ruination I really expected more. I was almost afraid to taste it. So when I opened the bottle and smelled a sweet citrusy smel along with the piney hoppy aroma I was a little relieved. It was really a great beer, but I guess I thought there would be more pungent this or more hoppy that. A really good balance of citrus & hop, I didn't think one overpowered the other.

I have been wanting to try this one for a while. Got the opportunity during a recent vacation and it was all I was hoping for. Nice aroma, and a blast of hops, just the way I like it. Probably not the hoppest beer I have had, I think that goes to Bell's Hopslam, but would love to do a blind taste test on the two.

Nice IPA with a very pungent, yet non offensive flavor, tho it does linger. I'll have to agree with the bottle on this one, " A liquid poem to the glory of the hop! ".

I've had this in my fridge for a few months waiting until it just felt right. So there were great NCAA hoops on TV and I'd made some delicious stuffed tenderloin and the stars aligned. I love IPAs and I really love big IPAs and this is damn near perfect. Only the 3rd "10" I've given, but I might go 11 if I could. I may have a new favorite beer (and fortunately, I have another bottle). Plus this is the greatest bottle and label ever.

If you want to taste this one, make sure you do it last. After this one, you won't be able to taste anything else. It is the most pungent beer I've ever tasted, but don't chicken out, there is a LOT of flavor there for those who have the gift of hop tolerance. Fragrant, beautiful, and very tasty. Pours orange amber with a frothy white top, hop smell and taste is orange blossom, appricots and pine. NOT for the beginner

What a great beer. While it didn't quite ruin my palate, it was incredibly hoppy. I think I could actually drink this on regular occasions. I wish Stone and Dogfish Head would come to Arkansas. This and the DFH 90 minute IPA are the best two beers I've had.

This beer concludes my Murfreesboro haul. I've had a month full of Dogfish Head, Highland, Stone and Unibroue beers. It's been a great month. I'm ready for another beer roadtrip.

Hands down this is the strongest Imperial IPA I have ever tasted. It was so hoppy that the bitterness lingered for several minutes after taking a drink. It's like those hot wings that burn your mouth long after you have taken a bite. I must confess that my love of hops has met its match with this beer. I would love to drink this again, but only on very bold occasions. Special thanks to Phil for delivering this beer to me.
